STRADBROKE - SUFFOLK

We were delighted to be asked to work with Stradbroke Primary School recently on a project to invest into their school.

17 Garden Rooms provided a full turn key package to install a sensory and reflection space for the school. From groundworks to completion, the full project was completed in just seven working days!

THE TASK

The main brief from the client was that the project needed to be started within the summer holidays and completed prior to the start of the next school term.

This request posed no issue for us as the lightweight steel structure was installed within one day – which is certainly an efficient option in comparison to other traditional build methods.

Prior to this, our team laid the groundworks in preparation for install by way of laying a concrete pad which provides a good level surface for a number of sub-floors, including lightweight steel.

Once the foundations and the structure had been erected, our talented team were quickly able to insulate the building to provide a cool space in the summer and a warm space in the winter for both teachers and students alike.

We then installed a comprehensive rubber roofing system which comes with a 25 year warranty as standard, installed stunning anthracite grey French doors with manual integral blinds, a small window to the rear and completed all of the internal finishes including electrical works, lighting, internal laminate flooring and decoration.

The finished product was completed with a highly stylish anthracite grey composite cladding to compliment the grey theme.

Once the works were completed, we also assisted the client with dismantling and selling an old bike shelter to free up space in the school playground.

THE FEEDBACK

17 Garden Rooms were thrilled with the finished product, and our Sales Manager Joel Mullin commented that;

“Using lightweight steel really is the future of construction. The client needed this project to be carried out during the summer holidays whilst the school was effectively closed to reduce potential disruptions to the staff and the children and I am proud to say that we delivered on the brief given. Working with a local school to provide a sensory room and reflection space is a cause close to my heart, and I am pleased with the great relationship we have built with the client which we can hopefully continue with other schools in the area.”

Most importantly, the client was pleased with the works completed and provided a glowing testimonial to reflect. Hannah Hunt, Head of School said;

“We used 17 Garden Rooms to build an outdoor building to house a sensory/reflection space for our primary school.  From the initial meeting, the company were knowledgeable and shared clear ideas about how we could make the building work most effectively.

They drew up designs, ensured that all of our requirements were included and communicated effectively with us throughout. The work took place over the summer holidays and all of the people involved in the project were professional and completed their part of the work to a very high standard. If there were any issues or queries throughout, Joel was quick to communicate with me and resolved any issues swiftly and efficiently.

Throughout the process, 17 Garden Rooms went above and beyond, including removing and helping to sell an old bike shelter to make space for the new building and ensuring that we were happy with each stage of the project.

The finished building is of a very high quality both inside and out and we are so pleased with the new space which we have to use.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 17 Garden Rooms and will definitely use them again in the future for any similar projects.”
